What the GOP Should Have Learned from Donald Trump by Now

If there’s one lesson that the Republican Party should have learned from Donald J. Trump by now, it’s this: Stop playing defense. After five years of watching Donald Trump masterfully set the narrative on a day-to-day basis (and never playing defense), the GOP “leaders” in Congress seem content to lie back and dream of Ronald Reagan while the communist-infiltrated Democrat Party has its way with America.

The perfect case in point is the Republican Party’s treatment of freshman Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). She’s a pro-Trump, America First MAGA patriot of the first order. She’s awesome. Naturally, her Wikipedia page describes her as a far-right “conspiracy theorist serving as a US Representative for Georgia’s 14th District.”

When the 2018 wildfire broke out in California, Greene re-posted a theory on her Facebook page that communist China was starting wildfires on the West Coast of America using some sort of laser from space. (She RE-posted it – she didn’t author the post.)

As soon as she was elected to Congress, George Soros’ Media Matters dug up that old post and claimed that the “racist and anti-Semitic” Marjorie Taylor Green believes that “Jewish space lasers” are setting forest fires. The media took its marching orders from Soros and never bothered to see what she had actually posted…

And Jewish Space Laser-Gate was born!

Every reporter in Washington, DC sprinted to the nearest elected Republican and breathlessly asked, “Should Marjorie Taylor Greene resign from Congress, or do you also believe that the Jews are starting forest fires with lasers?”

Have you ever seen a little puppy roll onto his back and urinate on himself in fear? Let’s just say… the GOP’s official response to the attacks on Marjorie Taylor Greene was very similar.

Do you know what President Trump did in response to Jewish Space Laser-Gate? He called Rep. Greene to offer her some words of encouragement. Trump understands that Nancy Pelosi has a razor-thin majority in the House right now. Why call for someone on your own side to resign from Congress, when the stakes are so high and the margins are so close?

If they won’t learn from Trump, could the GOP at least take a page from the Democrats’ playbook? Here’s what I mean.

Let’s imagine that Marjorie Taylor Greene actually does believe in Jewish space lasers causing forest fires. And next, imagine that she’s a Democrat. How would every single elected Democrat in Congress react if you asked them to renounce the Jewish Space Laser believer?

Well, how did the Democrats react in 2019 when the brother-marrying Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) delivered her white genocide speech? They ignored it completely. No other Democrat renounced her, disavowed her or called for her to resign from Congress. They never “punch left.”

Call me old-fashioned, but I think that a sitting Congresswoman who calls for the extermination of every white man, woman and child in America is a bit more worrisome than a private citizen who posted a question on Facebook years before she was elected to office.

Speaking of rolling on your back and wetting yourself like a scared puppy, what’s up with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)? In an interview last week, Cruz savagely attacked Donald Trump and threw the entire MAGA movement under the bus. I know. My head hurts. What just happened?

Cruz called President Trump’s legitimate questions about the 2020 election “reckless and irresponsible.” He claimed that Trump did not prove anything in court about the election. (Of course he didn’t. No court was courageous enough to look at the mountains of evidence. Every case was dismissed by claiming that the people bringing the case did not have “standing.”)

And worst of all, Ted Cruz sat there in that interview and called the January 6 Capitol Kerfuffle a “a terrorist attack on the United States Capitol.”

A terrorist attack? A terrorist attack?

Are you kidding me?

Notice, once again, that a Republican Senator is playing defense and surrendering completely to the left’s narrative. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has accused Ted Cruz of leading the “terrorist attack” (which was not a terrorist attack) on the Capitol, and he turns around and agrees with her that it was a terrorist attack. If you accept that narrative, then you are calling 2 million of our MAGA friends and neighbors domestic terrorists. Sorry. That dog don’t hunt, as one of my cantankerous uncles used to say.

Color me disappointed. Ted Cruz has lost my vote if he ever runs for president again. If anyone wants to earn my vote in a future election, they had better have learned some lessons on how to win from Donald J. Trump.
